The New Year!
We have a lot of new toys at our house. Jack is sitting up like he's been doing it for years and can get where ever he wants to go via scooting and rolling. His go to spot is under our coffee table. Every time. He is sitting on his own in the bath tub and everything. He loves it. Of course he loves just about everything. :) Renae got several new best friends for Christmas. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Nemo. Now she has nap buddies nearly every nap. For the most part she is still un-understandable...but she is gaining a few more words. She got a kitchen, some baby doll stuff (high chair, stroller, car seat), a microphone (that takes FREQUENT naps), and two awesome tutus for Christmas...she is one busy girl! My next post will have some Trip to Michigan highlights for you all to enjoy! Oh and by the way...today is the first 'cold' day we've had in Savannah (we missed a few when we were in MI) but the high is only 54!! :) AND I noticed yesterday that the flowering trees already have buds on them. Maybe spring starts next week?!? If you want to come visit, I'll understand :)
Also, Josh is recovering nicely from his knee surgery last month, as you can see from the pictures, Renae knows just what to do with the ice pack and ace wrap. She bumped her head so I got it out of the freezer, she immediately sits in the lazy boy, pulls her pants up and sets it on her knee. Ace wrap is handy on the coffee table...put that on (she even picked the same knee as Daddy)....relax. hahaha.
And also, I am recovering nicely from my wonderful unknown skin allergy that likes to surprise me on the left side of my face. Haven't had it show up since last winter. That was a fun Christmas surprise, but the only thing seriously damaged was my attitude and that's coming along since my face is now back to normal. Thankfully neither child has tried to impersonate that (the face that is...the attitude, maybe a little bit).

30
So 11 days ago. I turned 30. :) Not even bothered by it. Josh surprised me with a trip to Atlanta to hang out with some of our great ATL friends. We had a wonderful weekend! Everyone was amazed at how big the kids have gotten in the 3 months it's been since we've seen them. And it's official, every baby has something that everyone notices. With Renae it was her eyes, or her dimple if they happened to see it. With Jack it's his head. The smile is a close second, but the first comment is 'his head is so perfect! he's got a great looking head!'. ha ha ha. He does though, which is a good thing considering he will probably not have hair someday. What a sweet boy.

Gearing Up!
We have a 5 month old! He is just getting started on solids...squash and avacado so far. Seems to be a success. Still as smiley as ever! Renae is saying more and more words all the time. And she will initiate saying something (and generally fail) whereas usually she would wait for you to say it first and then try to repeat it.
We are getting ready for a few weeks of busy! This is relative foreign to us. I mean we have things going on that make us busy of course, but they are hardly ever 'plans'. What I mean is, busy usually means grocery trip, running errands, doctors appointments, Bible study, church, library...etc. What we have is womens conferences (well just me on this one...Jack is coming along but he's not there for the womens conference, he's more there for the food and the large amounts of attention), DISNEY WORLD, and birthday extravaganza (30, 6 mo, 2, and then 32) followed quickly by Christmas! So there is a LOT of excitement at our house. We are finishing this year out with a bang for sure!
