Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 10

This is just a brief look at our trip a few weeks ago with Cale and Megan. We headed up to Kiawah Island (outside Charleston, SC) for the guys to run a marathon! There are so many stories! I can get to those later.

Turns out, instead of 60s and sunny it was 35 and rainy for the majority of the time we were there. I think the high was 48. And the wind was about 40mph. Off the ocean at least.

During the race. Renae's face says it all. IT WAS MISERABLE.

We had such a good time- and we're already planning on next year! Thanks Cale and Megan for a great vacation! :)

The Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 8

Even though it's a little past the day, I wanted to post some pictures of the Christmas decor around our house. We had a great time decorating this year! :)

This is one of my new favorite things. Shannon got me this jingle bell tree for my birthday this year! And, next to it, is our only Mistletoe candle we have left. Note to us: when living in GA, the attic is NOT a safe place to store candles. You can if you'd like, but you will be peeling wax of every Christmas item you have for several hours if you do.

This is another new addition, the small tree. Thank you Hobby Lobby. $3.00 And it's perfect for that spot!

On top of our bookshelf:

The following are brought to you by garland and my newest favorite Christmas Tree item: jingle bell garland! It's so great! (You might notice that we decorate with lots of bright colors. Totally our style. Love it!)

And here is where we put all our cards from all of you! :) Thank you for thinking of us this Christmas! We really enjoy hearing from everyone and really appreciate that you keep up with our continually changing addresses to include us! We love you!!

The Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 7

We had a white Christmas here in Atlanta!! It snowed last year when we lived in Augusta, this year in Atlanta, and if we get snow next year in Savannah, we'll know it's us. :)

The Twelve Days of Chrismas: Day 5

Since I have quite a few days left, I don't want to put out too much at once, so today I'll just put up some pictures for you to enjoy! :) You can see for yourself how much Renae enjoyed Santa! Ha ha

Merry Christmas!!

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 4

Happy Birthday JOSHUA!!!

What a perfect opportunity to celebrate Josh! Though it doesn't seem like nearly as long, we've been together for over 6 years, married for 4 1/2, have a beautiful daughter together, and about to have another baby (!!), we've lived together in 2 states, but 4 locations (Ft. Leavenworth, KS, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Ft. Gordon, GA, Ft. Gillem, GA), moved every year since 2008 (2007 for Josh, cause Iraq counts), made new friends again and again together, travelled together, watched A LOT of football together, experienced a lot of very unique things together: a 15 month deployment, open heart surgery, the Army...that's just the big stuff. Together we can make the stress involved in nearly all of these things and make it fun (the one exception would be the deployment, that was not ever fun...and when the Huskers lose, there's not much fun in that either).

He's my best friend, a wonderful husband, and a fabulous father. He's a gift! If I could put into a gift something to return the joy he gives me everyday I'm not sure what it would be. Probably Madden for PS3 or new running shoes. Ha Ha.

We love you Josh! Happy Birthday!

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 2

We recently had our Growing Kids God's Way small group Christmas party. Josh and I are really loving this group, we are learning so much! We've been having a great time learning together how to raise Godly Kids.

And, speaking of growing kids...Josh and I are growing another one! :) We are 15 1/2 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. The due date is around June 13th, but if this baby is delivered at 37 weeks like Renae we're looking at the end of May. We are so excited!!

The Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 1

This week, there is NOTHING on the calendar. No doctors appointments (for me or Renae), no Christmas parties, small group gatherings, no office obligations, no PWOC, no board meetings, nothing! Well....except 2 important birthdays. :)

That being said, I'll start of my Twelve Days of Christmas blogging-spree with a recap of Renae's 1st birthday.

Renae and Sydneys' birthday party in Nebraska was a lot of fun. We all know how Grandma Deb can throw a party!

There was only one snag. Turns out. Renae does not like cake. ha ha. Here's proof:

We tried it again on her actual birthday with the same result. HA!

I wish I had a video to show you how fun the parties were. The tears were very brief, and there was a lot of fun to be had by all!

December!

Ahhhhh this time of year is so busy!! :) I'm going slightly insane, but at the same time, I love it! We just got back from Thanksgiving 5 days ago and have already prepared for and put on a Christmas party on base, celebrated my birthday, decked our halls, got really sad watching the Huskers in the Big 12 Championship game, unpacked, and are getting prepared to host dinner tomorrow, and then pick up Cale and Megan at the airport and repack to go on vacation with them! :)

So exciting! Merry Christmas!! :)
