Washington DC!

Last week went ventured north on our annual Army Ten-Miler vacation. :) We drove this year, and Renae did an amazing job on a 10 hour drive!

We stayed at our friends Matt and Laura's house and had great time catching up with them and seeing their awesome home restoration project! :)

Amber came down from NYC to run with Josh...here we are early early race morning on the metro...don't they look ready to run! :)

Both finished with a perosonal best: Josh 67:41 and Amber 77 and change. :) WOW! I couldn't even keep up with them they ran so fast. Unfortunatly I missed Amber at ALL the watch points I went to, BOO! But, Matt got a couple pictures of Josh:

Post race:

We also got to see Amit and watch some football, even though it didn't go exactly as we would have hoped.

We got to see our friends the Stokes, too!

We went to Bull Run...the Civil War Battles at Manassas:

We saw Speedy again! :) He's so sweet. Turning 95 this month!

Played some Wii!! Which was really fun, Josh and I had only played Wii one or two other times, so it was a new experience! :)

And leaving again early in the morning...sad. But we had a great trip! Thanks Matt and Laura for everything! :)

Columbus Day Weekend

I love 4 day weekends! Thank you Christopher Columbus. :)

We were super busy this weekend! Starting Thursday night after Josh got home from work, our weekend looked like this:

We watched our very first Husker game of the season on TV. It was phenomenal. We are now extra excited for this Saturday's game against Texas! :) Friday we did some work around the house and then in the evening had our friends Paul and Nicole over. They are in our small group, and have 2 girls, a 4 yr old and a 10 week old. Ava and Renae had a great time playing together. You might be thinking...that's the tallest 4 year old I've ever seen, and you would be correct. :) She's really cute.

Paul and Josh went to pick up some pizza, and on their way out the door, they spotted THIS:

WOW. Talk about sick. But we were all entertained for a significant portion of time. So I guess there's that.

Saturday morning bright and early, Josh and some more friends from our small group ran in a race. Heath, Claire, and Kenny ran the 5K at 8am, and Josh ran the 10K at 9am. All three of them hadn't run a race in a significant length of time and they all did a great job!

Josh did fabulous, too. It may have had something to do with his cheering section:

Josh ran a personal best: 42:36. WHOO HOO!! He was really glad to have run the race, also in part because it got him out of his 16 mile marathon training run he was supposed to do that day. :)

Renae was so tired having gotten up early to watch Daddy run, but she thoroughly enjoyed his medal! :)

After that, it was home for some sourdough waffles, Kenny and Shannon came over and enjoyed them with us.

After they left, we watched the new Robin Hood movie with Russel Crow, very good. Then, we went over to more small group friends' house, Jeremy and Audrey. They have a 6 year old girl and a 2 year old boy...who is obsessed (like every little boy is) with Toy Story...specifically Buzz Lightyear. He loves to shoot people with his 'yazer'. Sound effects and all. So cute. Renae had fun playing with him too. We had a lot of fun. It is absolutely amazing to us how God provides such amazing people everywhere we go. We have awesome awesome friends!!!

Sunday we went to church and small group, then headed home to find THIS:

yes, in our garage right in front of the door. Oh and why does the body look fuzzy? Cause it's covered in a million babies.

WOW. Sunday night we had Growing Kids God's Way...super fun! Then comes Monday...we relaxed! We did a little shopping, went for a walk, watched a movie, it was great!

Who's cute? :)

The Fall Decor

Isn't God so creative in creating seasons?! I love watching the seasons change. Being in the south, the change is not AS drastic as other places, but it's still beautiful. I loving bringing some of the colors and smells that I love from fall inside. (If only they had a harvest candle that smelled like dirt/soybeans/or corn dust.)

Smoke and Mirrors?

Nope, just mirrors...and, as Josh would say, his smokin' hot daughter. :)
