1. Two weeks ago we went to family breakfast at Waffle House. No booster seats, no problem. Jack and Renae did fine. However, when the waitress was at our table to get our order, Jack sneezed and hit the bridge of his nose on the edge of the table because you know, he's short. He was a wreck. But there was no blood, which I am still amazed at. Sadly, it was actually really funny- except for the giant bruise.
2. Noah has added a third sound to his abilities. He had 'b' and 'g' sounds down, and he has added 'mah' Mama might actually come out first! WOOP!
3. Jack will exit this summer with only 2 lasting scars (I think), one on his lower leg about the size of a dime from infected ant bites (he had 5 or 6 bad spots but only one left a scar) and the scrape on his nose from the face dive he took on our 2 brick steps.
4. Renae finally gets that there is a baby in my tummy. She has no opinion on if the baby is a boy or a girl, she does however have two babies in her tummy. Interesting.
5. Josh has been doing sprint triathlons (google it for the distances) for PT in the mornings. Yes, he times himself, and Yes, he is nuts.
6. Jack has become the favorite of all the middle school helpers in the 2s class at church. It seems like he comes home with a gift from one of them nearly every week. What a flirt.
7. Jack also has decided he doesn't want to wear a shirt anymore. "It's too hot". Pretty sure he's not hot because he says that all the time.
8. On that note, this summer has been the most perfect summer Savannah could offer weather wise. We've really only had a handful of days over 90. So add the heat index and it's beautiful out. It has rained so much that there are very very few bugs (I'm guessing that's the reason). We go for family walks nearly every night, and have been to the beach and pool without sunburns and heat stroke, Josh runs outside while still enjoys breathing :) It has been a perfect summer!
9. We started "teaching" (read facilitating discussion) our parenting class at church a couple weeks ago. We're loving it so far- 30 people signed up! WHAT?! Yay for people wanting to learn more about parenting God's way!
10. Josh got to attend his first ever Men's Conference last weekend. 1500+ men at the Savannah Civic Center praising Jesus. He had a great time! 4 speakers, 2 bands, Chick-Fil-A, great fellowship, and a GIANT breakfast the next day with another great speaker! He was so glad he went and learned a lot!
11. Ok, so I thought of another one. The kids' new favorite thing is blowing raspberries on Noah's tummy. Or Josh's. Or each other's. The other night we were all in Jack's room getting ready the kids ready for bed and I was laying on my stomach (I know!!! 4 1/2 mo pregnant!) and he decided my love handles looked like an excellent target. I'm not proud but hey...what can you do about it. Needless to say, I was laughing so hard at the sounds he was making that I had tears rolling down my face...he thought it was hilarious. Then Renae joined in. I think I lost about 10 pounds laughing so hard- my face (and my pride) hurt. It was disgusting. If only they knew why those noises were so gross. I guess it's only a matter of time. HA!
