Life Lately :)

Movies Movies Movies! :) Here's a glimpse at some everyday life here in Savannah! A beware brief nudity during the following bathtime video. Josh started this game with the kids awhile ago and both of them do it, when he puts their towel on them, they yell "Burrito!" it's hilarious. You can hear Jack saying it way too early. hahaha. Lunch time is always fun, new games, new conversations, it's hilarious. Here's a glimpse of lunch at our house! And the newest change at our house...a walking Jack! :) WOOP WOOP! Enjoy!

Nebraska!

Jack went on his first plane ride to Nebraska :)  He did a great job!  He is one busy boy...I think the diaper bag weighed about 30 lbs with about 15lbs of that being snacks that he ate on the flight :)

Uncle Levi's wedding!!  Welcome to the family Aunt Natalie! :)  Jack rolled down a hill, ate a stick, and got lots of grass stains while you got married.  I'd say he had a good time.

Met cousin Lewis :)  it was a joyous occasion, except the next time they hung out Jack immediately poked Lewis in the eye. 

We celebrated all the summer birthdays...June, July, and Aug.  WOW.  With a yummy Brophy cake...DELISH!

Annnd NOT a good picture but Jack was really tired and we finally got a chance to sit down for a bit! :) 

You noticed that only once Jack was being held by a girl....man-crush is still in full effect.  Turns out one of my brothers was the same way ;)  Grandpa Corky and Jack spent LOTS of time together- orange shirt in summer birthday picture--front and center! :)  But I don't have any pictures of that...the camera was not functioning most of the weekend.  Thus only one wedding photo and very few others. 

Meanwhile back in ATL, Josh and Renae had a great time playing together, swimming, and hanging out with lots of our ATL friends.

It was a fast trip but very fun!

Independence Day!

Well our Fourth of July started out with Josh waking up bright and early to run the PeachTree Road Race....with 60,000 other people. :)  Heath (in our small group at our ATL church last year) wasn't able to run, so Josh (after some seriously peer pressure) ran in his place.  He did a great job!  And his knee felt fine! So now that we've re-opened the race can-o-worms I'm sure we're in for a lot more of those!  So that was over before lunch...and then...

our ATL church hosts "Freedom Fest" regularly and we spent several hours there with our old small group.  Lots of lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, good music, and friends!  And kids. LOTS of kids.  Renae and Jack had a great time...

Ok so maybe it doesn't look like it in this picture, but they were actually not thrilled about stopping playtime for the family pic!  Renae tried out lots of lawn chairs, ate lots of popsicles, and danced a lot...Jack dumped out lots of drinks--OH and took his first steps to our friend Stuart (which he has not repeated since), and played with Stuart and Jeremy (and our 5 year old friend Connor) the majority of the evening. 

 

 

 

 

 

How many pushups can you do with a million kids sitting on you?  The best fire-fighting training there is right?

 

 

So unfortunatly, neither kid liked the fireworks.  Renae nearly choked me the whole time.  Wouldn't even look at 'em.  Which is weird cause she liked them last year.  But it was also WAAAAAAY later than last year by the time they started the fireworks and she was really tired.

Summer!!

We just got back from our Independence Day trip to Atlanta/Nebraska, but before I blog about all that I thought I would give you a glimpse of summer in Savannah!  IT IS HOT!  WOWIE!

Inflatable water ball from the cousins...super fun!  Also in case you're curious, Josh has a towel on his head because he didn't put sun screen on.  haha.  A burnt head is BAD.  Of course Renae is not about to approach the fun on her own and unfortunatly due to really mean ants Jack can't crawl to it either.  So Daddy to the rescue.

And even though Renae's hair is about a foot longer than last summer, the humidity still works it's magic.  I am not in the least bit jealous--oh wait.  Totally jealous.

The New Job! :)

So I have deliberately put off posting this because I wanted to wait till it ACTUALLY happened. Which if you've been around the Army at all, is a necessity. But Josh has finally transferred to Fort Stewart (about 45 min away) to a new unit. He now works in the headquarters for 3rd Infantry Division. :) "Rock of the Marne!" To which you all would respond "Top of the Rock!" :) For the most part nearly all 3ID is deploying between Aug and Dec which is going to make this area a bit of a ghost town. Josh is staying back in the rear detachment (keeping everything going back at the ranch so to speak). Let's just say that because he'll be the only MP Officer in the group that remains that he'll be filling lots of shoes, with his primary duties being usually assigned to a Lt. Colonel. Yup, 2 ranks higher than him. So far he feels like he's getting a decent grasp on what's expected. This has been a little challenging as he has about 3 weeks before the majority of soldiers leave, and less time with his 'boss'. But we feel blessed that he can have this position as it keeps him here for B3 being born. So yay! Our old position is done and behind us, and here is a new and exciting challenge before. We really do love this part of Army Life! If you want to read more about 3ID or Rock of the Marne, feel free to check out the links above. And of course things always change, but we should stay with this unit until Summer 2014 so we'll stay in GA for awhile! If we are here till then that will mark 5 years in this state!! WOW!! (More than likely we will move a little closer to the base after B3 is born, to cut down on Josh's commute, but we don't really know when that will be). :)
