Parenting FAIL #34092= sunscreen in the eye.  Turns out the sunscreen I used expired in August of 2005.  WOW.  So Renae had a rash for the next 3 days.  And a puffy eye.  Benedryl to the rescue.

We had a great Mother's Day weekend!  Our Anniversary fell on Mother's Day this year so Saturday night Josh and I went out for our Anni to dinner and to see the Avengers!  It was awesome!  We went to our favorite local restaurant, Marker 107 and got complementary grits with our meals!  :)  YUM! Then after the movie we went to Sonic and got 1/2 price shakes which was delish.  It's so great getting a night out!!  Sunday we went to church, helped in the 2's classroom and then had our Growing Kids God's Way small group, then came home, took naps and just chilled out.  It was a great Mother's Day!  And the best part, is Josh has today off, so he's here for Monday, too! :)

Gotta love 4 day work weeks.  Also next week is a 4 day week again because of Memorial Day (Friday off) and then the next week is a 4 day again because of Memorial Day (Monday off).  :)  YES!!!! 

We're Home!

It finally happened.  Josh is no longer the 3rd Group HHD Commander.  We had both nearly given up hope that it would end!  If you remember, he was originally schedule to rotate out March 15th.  But it was rescheduled.  So I headed to Michigan on March 31st to hang out with the fam for Easter hoping he would soon join us!  He came up for Easter but had to go back to work....and back to work...and back to work.  FINALLY on April 20th, the ceremony happened!  He is done!  So then he flew up to Michigan again and we began our vacation!  A huge thank you to the Thomases who hosted us for a MONTH!  Yikes!  We also spent a few days with Josh's brother and his family (which was just in time for our nephews 4th bday and Josh's mom's 60th!). 
 
Easter

So in the month of April:
*Renae got 2 more teeth, she now has a full row on the top, still only 4 in the front on the bottom.
*Jack, Josh, and I each gained at least 5 lbs.  I think I probably won that one. 
*Jack is wearing 12-18mo sized clothes.  (He turns 1 in just a few weeks!  I can't believe it)
*Renae LOVES to sing.  Her new favorite thing.  She is memorizing songs left and right.  Still takes some interpretation and luck to figure out what it is that she's saying but if you catch a few words you can generally figure it out.

After a month of 50s and colder, Savannah 90s are feeling really good!  We've got our pool out, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, the wagon, all sorts of outside fun.  And we got the kids hats that fit so we don't burn our children to a crisp.
Josh is running again!  After his surgery in December, this is the first time he's really felt good running- he's really excited!  He still runs 'slow' (his slow is faster than me by about 4 minutes a mile), but he's getting there!
I am 15 weeks pregnant and feeling good. Definity showing MUCH more with this one than either of the other two.  I don't think that I looked this pregnant with Renae till 6 or 7 months.  Hahaha.  Vacation might have something to do with that.  OR the fact that I was this pregnant a little over a year ago....

No we are not in MI yet.  Josh is still in command.  Kind of a mess but hey...a day in the life of the Army right?  So my fabulous dream family vacation gets completely changed around...another 17+ hr drive with myself and the kids while Josh stays here and works. Boo.  But command has to end sometime, and someday someday someday that work phone will be GONE :)

So my friend Gwen did a mini photo shoot of these two cuties last week.  If you want to see a lot more check out my album on facebook. :)  We have been having great weather (like most of the rest of the country!), and are really loving spring.

Renae is celebrating the time change by talking non stop and singing some new songs.  She has 3 that she sings all the time.  One from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, one from VeggieTales (Lyle the Kindly Viking), and the last one from Mickey Mouse Club House.  I would have to explain what you were hearing due to the fact that she really only says about 3 words of the song...but it's pretty funny.
Josh is in the final days of his command position.  Thank the Lord!  We are so grateful that he's had this position and I think for the most part he's enjoyed it and learned a lot.  These last 2 weeks have been REALLY REALLY long days.  One more week then the work phone and command baton gets passed on to the next poor soul lucky guy.
I am counting down to the 2 fun things we have on our calendar coming up.  On Friday some friends from Atlanta are coming to town to participate in the Savannah St. Patrick's Day hoopla.  Turns out it is a HUGE HUGE deal here.  Like 2nd longest parade in the world, die all the water green, sell beer at every retail establishment, security checks every other block, and hotels booked full YEARS in advance...that kind of HUGE deal.  So that will be good.  We'll see if we make it through the whole parade experience...3+ hours o' fun (and candy??). 
Then in 10 days or so we are going on vacation!! (post command...we are NOT taking an Army blackberry with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)  We are headed up north to spend some MUCH anticipated time with family.  We are so excited!  Did I mention I'm excited?  Can.Not.Wait.

Then after that....nothing.  Not one thing planned.  Till July.  So find some time to come visit us :)  We'd love to see you!

9 Months

Well, Jack is there. 9 months old! Stats are 28.5 in tall and 20 lbs. Renae was actually a little lighter and a smidge taller at her 9 mo check. But what's weird about it is Jack is not chubby. Not like Renae was. We have been pretty busy the last few weeks! Grandma and Grandpa Schweitz came for 6 days. It was so great to have them. The kids got sick the day they got here, of course, but we still had a great time. We went to the beach, to the wildlife preserve, to Chick-Fil-A (Beth had never been!!), to tour Josh's office/the base, Wormsloe Historical site, LOVES Seafood Restaurant, a LOT! Jack of course took FOREVER to get over his cold...if you saw my facebook you not only saw pictures of Dad and Beth's visit but you saw updates of our Dr. appt madness. When I first took him in they did an RSV test and he ended up getting an IV for an hour because he was dehydrated. Two days later we went into follow up and found out that it wasn't RSV but that he was doing much better. He's still shaking the last of it, but after 2 weeks of sick he isn't nearly as miserable. Josh and I had our informational meeting about Growing Kids God's Way today. 5 couples came! We are excited to start the class again, it's such wonderful material. We are thankful that our church is letting us lead it since we are still fairly new to the church. Renae is growing up so fast! She loves puzzles and is getting really good at them. Her vocabulary is getting bigger and bigger- night and day difference from a month ago! The other morning she was watching me put in my contacts and ask if I was putting bubbles in my eyes. haha. Savannah continues to be very beautiful. Though my opinion of it changes very often. Savannah is unique in the fact that we have the tall forest pines, palm trees, cacti (cactuses?), magnolia trees, and of course the live oaks with spanish moss everywhere. It's beautiful. Everything is green again with flowers and pollen galore. And sand gnats. Oh wait, they never went away. Between the squitos and sand gnats I might never go outside. I can only let Renae walk out of the stroller on really windy days because otherwise her meandering start/stop technique gets us all eaten alive. So on calm days I strap her in, too, and basically jog while avoiding clouds of gnats. But we still enjoy it. Beach/coast weather is great! AND, ready for this!??! WE ARE NOT MOVING THIS SUMMER!!!! We get to stay in Savannah till the summer of 2013!! The first summer in 5 years we haven't moved! We can't believe it. WONDERFUL! Woop Woop!
