Mother's Day (little late)
Our friends Crystal and Stephen watched the kids while we went out for our Anniversary...and they helped the kids make me this card! :)

Unique-isms
We love how different our kids are. They are very similar! But they are definitly very different. We love it! Here is a small picture of their little personalities as of right now!
Renae: Almost 2 1/2, Reserved, VERY cautious, snuggly, and loves keeping Mommy to herself! She prefers Mommy to pick her up, give her hugs, would rather Mommy did all those things and not Daddy...though she loves Daddy, too! She's still leary of strangers, quiet in crowds, and not happy when she gets dropped off for Sunday School. However, she loves to sing songs, loves to go on walks, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk. She loves to play with necklaces and bracelets, do puzzles, read books, and go to the park. She's not that fond of the beach (well the ocean actually), using silverware, or sharing with her brother. She uses most of her vocabulary talking to him during the day! haha!
Jack: Almost 1 (2 more weeks!), out-going, friendly, VERY smiley (where as Renae took MONTHS to smile, Jack was born smiling and has barely stopped!), ALWAYS MOVING. He will not sit still on a lap and if you are going to hold him, he wants as little body to body contact as possible (he has some personal space issues hahaha). Jack would rather use whomever is holding him as a lazy boy. He will push your hands and arms away if you try to wrap him up in hug. As dependable as Renae is at choosing Mommy he would rather have Daddy every time. If Daddy's not around, any man will do...stranger or not! He prefers Daddy to feed him (though he likes Mommy to hold him if he's drinking a bottle). If we build a tower out of blocks {if it can get all the way built with his sister around ((if you build it, she will knock it down, within seconds))} he will stare at it and marvel, not even daring to touch it! :) Jack is very verbal...in fact he almost makes Renae look 'quiet' by comparison.
Ahhh they are so cute! :)

Lately!
tried so hard to have her stand in the water...would not let go of her death grip! I put her down successfully once only to have her climb my leg and not let go. hahaha
Parenting FAIL #34092= sunscreen in the eye. Turns out the sunscreen I used expired in August of 2005. WOW. So Renae had a rash for the next 3 days. And a puffy eye. Benedryl to the rescue.
We had a great Mother's Day weekend! Our Anniversary fell on Mother's Day this year so Saturday night Josh and I went out for our Anni to dinner and to see the Avengers! It was awesome! We went to our favorite local restaurant, Marker 107 and got complementary grits with our meals! :) YUM! Then after the movie we went to Sonic and got 1/2 price shakes which was delish. It's so great getting a night out!! Sunday we went to church, helped in the 2's classroom and then had our Growing Kids God's Way small group, then came home, took naps and just chilled out. It was a great Mother's Day! And the best part, is Josh has today off, so he's here for Monday, too! :)
Gotta love 4 day work weeks. Also next week is a 4 day week again because of Memorial Day (Friday off) and then the next week is a 4 day again because of Memorial Day (Monday off). :) YES!!!!

We're Home!
It finally happened. Josh is no longer the 3rd Group HHD Commander. We had both nearly given up hope that it would end! If you remember, he was originally schedule to rotate out March 15th. But it was rescheduled. So I headed to Michigan on March 31st to hang out with the fam for Easter hoping he would soon join us! He came up for Easter but had to go back to work....and back to work...and back to work. FINALLY on April 20th, the ceremony happened! He is done! So then he flew up to Michigan again and we began our vacation! A huge thank you to the Thomases who hosted us for a MONTH! Yikes! We also spent a few days with Josh's brother and his family (which was just in time for our nephews 4th bday and Josh's mom's 60th!).
Easter
Easter
Martha gave Renae a Hunger Games braid ;) hahaha
So in the month of April:
*Renae got 2 more teeth, she now has a full row on the top, still only 4 in the front on the bottom.
*Jack, Josh, and I each gained at least 5 lbs. I think I probably won that one.
*Jack is wearing 12-18mo sized clothes. (He turns 1 in just a few weeks! I can't believe it)
*Renae LOVES to sing. Her new favorite thing. She is memorizing songs left and right. Still takes some interpretation and luck to figure out what it is that she's saying but if you catch a few words you can generally figure it out.
After a month of 50s and colder, Savannah 90s are feeling really good! We've got our pool out, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, the wagon, all sorts of outside fun. And we got the kids hats that fit so we don't burn our children to a crisp.
Josh is running again! After his surgery in December, this is the first time he's really felt good running- he's really excited! He still runs 'slow' (his slow is faster than me by about 4 minutes a mile), but he's getting there!
I am 15 weeks pregnant and feeling good. Definity showing MUCH more with this one than either of the other two. I don't think that I looked this pregnant with Renae till 6 or 7 months. Hahaha. Vacation might have something to do with that. OR the fact that I was this pregnant a little over a year ago....
More later!
